CSST Associates

Vatican Council II (Lumen Gentium 39) affirms that 'The call to Holiness is Universal'.
In the Church, everyone whether belonging to the hierarchy, or being cared for by it,
is called to holiness, according to the saying of the Apostle: "For this is the will of God,
your sanctification". (l Thess. 4.3; cf. Eph.1:4.) In the Encyclical "Christi Fidelis Laici",
Pope John Paul II calls for the laity to be given their rightful place in the Church.

Today, often as a result of new situations, many Institutes have come to the conclusion that their
Charism can be shared with the laity. The laity are therefore invited to share more intensely in
the spirituality and mission of these Institutes" (Vita Consecrata 54)

Sharing our CSST Charism is a call for a renewed spiritual and apostolic dynamism in our
own Institute. The challenge to live our Charism more authentically: "Moved by the
examples of holiness of the consecrated members, CSST men and women will experience first
hand the spirit of the Evangelical Counsels, and will thus be encouraged to live and bear
witness to the spirit of the Beatitudes, in order to transform the world according
to God's design." (Vita Consecrata 55)

By introducing the CSST Associates, we share the compassionate love of God that is lavished on us,
a unique gift given to our Foundress Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima. We also
acknowledge the growing role of the laity within the church and the need to share
the same vision and mission.

The CSSTs live their Charism in a consecrated way, while the associates live it within
their secular milieu. We enrich each other and allow our Charism to grow and blossom
for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

The Associates' joyful experience reaches out to all those with whom they come into contact,
sharing with them the experience of God's compassionate love.

Aim of the CSST Associates

    promotion of God’s Kingdom.
